Digital Forensics

Our dedicated Digital Forensics Group provides a highly specialised service which underpins our wider forensic offering.  Our team can be engaged either in conjunction with an expert witness or investigation appointment, or as a stand-alone engagement.

We can respond quickly

We recognise that critical evidence residing in digital media is usually volatile. The ability to respond quickly to an incident is extremely important in any type of forensic technology work. Therefore, we are committed to providing an immediate response to requests, whether local or international.

Comprised of forensic investigators and technical specialists, we can assist with:

  • Computer imaging and analysis;
  • Transaction tracing and analysis;
  • Electronic data retrieval;
  • Intellectual property authentication;
  • Internet activity and email discovery;
  • Data mining and presentation;
  • Lost password recovery, and;
  • Hard disk drive wiping.

The methods we apply are as follows:

  • Mapping the data environment - Our DFG specialists will assess the sources and structure of the data held within an organisation to determine the best route for capture.
  • Computer forensics - Once identified we will use our specialist software to collate and analyse the data in a secure and evidentially robust way.
  • Data analytics - Business operations today are founded on the generation and utilisation of electronic information, often spread across multiple systems and platforms such as accounting systems, document enterprise systems and email. Our experience and specialist tools allow the collation and analysis of these records to allow interrogation and analysis.
  • Data visualisation - As part of the interrogation of data, our systems provide a clear representation of relationships between entities and transactions, allowing clear and concise evidence to be produced, including in Court proceedings.
  • E-discovery and disclosure - Given the potential for massive data sets, DFG can provide e-discovery solutions, tailored to the circumstances, ranging from single data sets to fully enabled internet based discovery platforms allowing the interrogation, collation and extraction of key data within the action/investigation.
