Nigel Ruddock (Partner)
Nigel works in our Recovery & Reorganisation
practice, focusing on viability reviews and reconstruction
assignments in the automotive sector where he works with a range of
manufacturers, lenders, suppliers and dealership groups.
Experience
Nigel joined us at Grant Thornton in 1998 from RSM Robson
Rhodes. For the past 15 years, he has focused exclusively on the
automotive sector, handling most of the significant UK dealership
restructuring assignments as well as being involved in a number of
major due diligence, refinancing and disposal and acquisition
transactions. Some of the assignments which Nigel has undertaken
include advice to funders on the restructuring of a top 20 multi
franchise motor group. He was also appointed administrator of,
amongst others, DC Cook (Holdings) plc, HMG Holdings Ltd as well as
Bikes-UK.com Holdings Ltd, the second largest motorcycle retailer
group in the UK.
With an in-depth understanding the issues facing dealership
networks undergoing consolidation and change, Nigel regularly
advises on the issues faced by dealer groups and OEMs. He lectures
extensively on financial and operational best practice in
dealerships as well as on the strategic pressures on managing
growth.
For the past three years, he has also carried out a wide range
of assignments in Continental Europe as the consolidation pressures
on distribution offer significant opportunities for both
manufacturers and dealer groups. He also works closely with the
Automotive team in Grant Thornton US in rolling out our capability
in issues affecting the supply chain.
