Ian M Evans (Partner)
Ian Evans trained with Andersen and joined Grant
Thornton's UK firm as a Tax Partner in Leeds in 1987. Apart from
his client service roles he has been involved in various firm-wide
activities including marketing and risk management. He was the
Office Managing Partner for Leeds between 1990 and 1995 and acted
as Regional Tax Partner for the North-East in the period 1995 -
2001. Following this, he acted as Head of Tax between 2001 and
2006.
He became Global Leader- Tax Services at Grant Thornton
International Limited in September 2006, in which capacity he is a
member of the global organization's leadership board. Ian's
board-level responsibilities have been extended to include Member
Firm Development matters within Europe and the GTIL finance
function.
Experience
Ian is a graduate of Manchester University where he studied
Management Sciences. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in England and Wales.
Ian's expertise covers:
- • Identification and integration of new member firms
- • Development of existing member firms through mergers,
reorganizations, establishment of joint ventures and strategic
investments
- • Establishment of global, regional and member firm level plans
for the development of taxation services, including designated
specialist services lines within tax
- • The establishment and monitoring of protocols for the
provision of high-quality, seamless cross-border tax services
- • Support to member firms in their business development
activities
- • The provision of tax marketing and communications material
with particular reference to global operations
- • Responsibility for the GTIL function providing world-class
technical tax training supporting cross-border tax services
Qualifications
Ian is on full-time secondement to Grant Thornton International
Ltd.
