Scott Barnes (Chief Executive Officer)
Scott is a graduate of Oxford University where he studied modern
history. After qualifying with another firm, he joined Grant
Thornton in 1984 and set up the insolvency practice in Leeds. Scott
was promoted to partner in 1987 and moved to London in 1991 where
he took over as head of London and South East Recovery in 1994. In
1995 he was promoted to UK head of Recovery and Reorganisation. In
2001 he took the job of Managing Partner for Specialist Financial
Services (recovery and reorganisation, corporate finance and
forensic) in which capacity he was a member of UK firm's Management
Board. Between January 2007 and December 2008 Scott was the first
global head of Advisory Services. In January 2009 he was appointed
as CEO of Grant Thornton UK.
