Mark Byers (Partner)
Mark is Head of Client Service for our Recovery & Reorganisation practice in the UK
and is also the Global Service Line Leader within Grant Thornton
International
Experience
Mark has been a partner with Grant Thornton since 1990. With
more than 20 years working in corporate finance and restructuring,
Mark has wide reaching experience covering corporate advisory,
investigations, due diligence and financial restructuring.
He regularly advises large banking syndicates to financially
distressed businesses in the UK, Europe, North America and Asia. In
the last five years he has led numerous international workout
assignments including high profile restructurings with debt
exposure in excess of £5billion. This work typically involved
identifying and developing financial restructuring opportunities,
supported by a combination of capital raising, disposal of non-core
businesses and strategic change. Mark also has experience in
M&A, IPOs and MBOs.
Mark also leads our monitoring trustee and divestiture trustee
services for competition regulators. He has personally led 18
monitoring trustee assignments reporting to competition regulators
around the globe, including the EC, UK CC, FTC, DoJ, ACC and
CCB.
